Royal visit at Rototest


Once a year the royal couple makes a traditional trip to a municipality in Stockholm county. In June of 2009 Salem municipality was the host, with a highly appreciated visit at the engineering company Rototest, where king Carl XVI Gustaf himself attended a performance test of a 500 hp sports car with Rototest equipment.

In June of 2009 Salem municipality received a royal visit by King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. Salem chose Rototest to represent the local companies. On arrival to Rototest the royal couple were introduced to the Rototest equipment and technology, which thanks to Rototest dynamometer's simple requirements could be held in the parking lot.

ROTOTEST VPA-RX demonstration
The hour-long visit proceeded with a test-run of a 500 horsepower Dodge Viper at full throttle up to 6000 rpm. Despite persistent rain, Rototest performed tests at speeds close to 300 km/h. King Carl Gustaf showed great interest in what had been measured and the test results obtained.

The outdoor presentation was followed by a seminar where the royal court were told about the Rototest company history and the bright prospect. Before the royal visit Rototest tested the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup that Prince Carl Philip drives in the Porsche Carrera Cup. The test results were handed to the king as a powertrain powerformance report.
